New UKAŽ and the Alma library platform
The libraries of Charles University started operating in the new library platform Alma. It also includes a new form of the discovery service UKAŽ, which replaces and unifies the functions of the original library catalogue (CKIS), the SFX link server and the Ebsco Discovery Service. -

With a new library platform from September
After the summer holidays, you can look forward to a new look of discovery service UKAŽ. Existing systems will be replaced by the new platform Alma. It is necessary to temporarily close all libraries’ operation at Charles University. The temporary shutdown will take place from 12 to 31 August 2021 inclusive. -
Summer opening hours
From 1 July to 11 August 2021, our libraries will have limited opening hours. Open in Hollar: Wed, Thu 11-16, in Jinonice: Tue, Wed 9-17 and in Opletalova: Wed 11-15. From August 12 to September 3, 2021, the library will be transitioning to a new library platform. The old library system will be down. It will not be possible to borrow books. Only the study room will be open. -
Library from May 24, 2021
From Monday, May 24, 2021, the opening hours of the library at Hollar will change. The library will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For the other two libraries, the operating hours remain unchanged.
